And the rain has no courtesy
For the one that has a dampened soul
And wind has no respect
For the one that it blows
And the lightening has no fear
Of who it strikes next
It’s just a life
One life
There is mercy for the rest
And the hurricane has no hesitation
For the for the family that it swept
And the earthquake has no hindrance
For the village that it shook
And the tsunami pays no mind
To the people that it filled
It’s just a thousand
A few hundred,
There are billions in the world
The destroyer has no concept
That the ones that it harms
Have less of a reaction
Than the ones that it leaves behind.
Nature has no discernment
And people, no respect
Victims have no sympathy
When survivors lay them to rest.
